Light & Plumbing Fixtures
Swap-out installs for ceiling fans, light fixtures, faucets, toilets, and garbage disposals — by a handyman, not a $500 minimum specialist.
Signs You May Need This
- A new ceiling fan or pendant still in the box
- A faucet you bought on sale and haven't installed
- A wobbling toilet, running flapper, or leaking supply line
- A garbage disposal that hums but won't grind
- A bathroom vanity light that's dated 1995
- A fixture you'd buy if you had someone trustworthy to install it
The Sweet Spot Between Plumber and Electrician
There’s a whole class of small fixture jobs that licensed plumbers and electricians charge a $300+ minimum for — but that don’t actually require a license to do. Like-for-like swaps. Preston handles those at handyman pricing without compromising on safety.
What Preston Swaps and Installs
Ceiling fans, including downrod and flush-mount, with new wall switches if needed. Pendant lights, chandeliers, and recessed-can to LED disk-light conversions. Vanity lights and bath bar fixtures. Faucet replacement (kitchen, bathroom, utility) with new supply lines and shut-off valves if the old ones are corroded. Toilet replacement with a new wax ring, supply line, and floor flange repair if needed. Toilet flapper, fill valve, and flush handle repair. Garbage disposal replacement (Badger, InSinkErator Evolution, etc.). Showerhead and tub spout swaps. Dishwasher and over-the-range microwave installation.
What Preston Doesn’t Do
Anything that requires opening a wall to run new wiring, anything that adds new circuits or new branches to your service panel, or any work that requires a permit to be legal. For those Preston has trusted referral plumbers and electricians in the area and will tell you up-front before quoting.
Bring Your Own Fixture
99% of the time you’ll save money buying your own fixture from Home Depot, Lowes, or a specialty showroom and having Preston install it. He’ll happily come look at the space first and tell you what specs to look for so the new piece actually fits.
